NLP and Animation

Ever since I started my animation career, I searched for the best method or way to animate, to work effectively and rapidly and still improve the final product's quality. After 8 years in the business, I found such a method. When I learned NLP, I was able to understand some of my internal processes as an animator, to improve them and develop a new approach.

The NLP Approach to Animation

I am writing a bit about the method after I understood that by taking the work process apart, and by using tools from the world of NLP, we can significantly improve everything we do, we can learn and enjoy while doing it, we can create more effectively, and of course, achieve much better results.

Before we will begin to deal examine the approach, ill shortly explain what is NLP.

It is a method for personal and interpersonal communication, and it is mainly used for therapy and changework. In addition to its therapeutical aspect, NLP Is actually a model of excellence which says that by understanding the process behind how we do what we do, we can take it apart, enrich it and learn it.

You can go to my site and read more about NLP at www.shuki-nlp.com and at another recommended site www.forachange.co.il

Lately I have mainly examined the process I go through while working. I have learned from the study of excellence project (NLP modeling) conducted by Robert Dilts in his book about Walt Disney, Strategies of Genius”. I examined some ways of action of friends and reached certain conclusions about them.

In the next collection of articles you can read about my integration of NLP and animation, and you can even learn tools that will help you improve your work.

It is important to say that I assume that you already have more than basic knowledge in animation, therefore I do not go into details about animation and its rules, but only about the animator's work process with the character. In this article I mainly write about my personal experience and I provide examples from my inner world.

The topics we will cover:

Establishing identification by using the tool of perceptual positions

I hope you will enjoy the articles and will be able to apply the tools in your work.
